On This Day: Tom Rogic makes his Celtic debut in win at Inverness

On This Day in 2013, Tom Rogic made his debut as Celtic won 3-1 against Inverness in the Highlands. Neil Lennon’s side took the three points thanks to goals from Kris Commons, Gershon and Miku, but the game is remembered as the day that Aussie Tam first adorned the Hoops.

The term legend is thrown around in football but where the Aussie applies, it is apt for that goal in the 2017 Scottish Cup Final.

The Wizard of Oz was a big game player, he was able to turn games with a flick of the switch. In his final season especially, he has been brilliant in the role of a senior player. His late assist in Dingwall stands out. The player was able to make a decision about his future and it is telling that Celtic respected that wish.

Rogic was signed for just $400k Australian dollars and has proven to be priceless, conjuring up some incredible moments in his time with the club. Tam has scored 44 times and assisted 47 times in his time at the club but brings so much to the team, bringing the best out in his teammates. In this time, he lofted 16 trophies during a period of incredible success at the club.
