Once the flag is raised it’s back to business for Brendan’s Bhoys

Today is flag day at Paradise. For the 9th time in the past decade we’ve kicked off the season as Champions. In fact it’s the 17th time we’ve done so this century. It’s an amazing number and even more amusing that a certain other club and their fan base still claim to be the most successful club in the country. The truth of course is that they’re not even the same club never mind the most successful one.

Each and every title Celtic win is as good as the last one, it doesn’t get boring. Forget all this nonsense about an uncompetitive league, I’ll take winning all the time as opposed to being a serial loser like their Hall of Game losing captain James Tavernier. If anything tasting repetitive success makes you hungrier for more.

Once that flag is raised by James Forrest and the whistle sounds to signal kick off we will be getting back down to business to retain our title. Yes the hustle and bustle of the Scottish Premiership will be back upon us and every one of us inside Celtic Park or watching on Sky Sports or Celtic TV will be delighted to have the Hoops back in action.

Conversely get ready for the moans and groans from the stands, the guy sitting next to you giving tactical advice to Brendan, the howls of derision if we aren’t ahead after 20 minutes. The agony and ecstasy lifestyle of being a Celtic supporter will be back before us and do you know what?

I for one wouldn’t change it for anything. Bring it on. See you at Paradise!

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. When I was a wee lad in a mining village in Twechar on A SAT night, I collected the sport newspaper for my father. Just seeing the word CELTIC was magic to me and I have loved them from that time on.
