Opinion – Bojan Miovski would be an absolute star playing for Celtic

Bojan Miovski showing his class again. He’s definitely a player Celtic should be signing, and hopefully is it not too late…

Bojan Miovski is a player most Celtic supporters would like to see in the Hoops. It’s no secret we need another striker and the Aberdeen man is one who is now on everyone’s wish list. There was speculation of a bid for the North Macedonian in the January window, but unfortunately it was just wishful thinking by us supporters.

Miovski proved his class at the weekend as he scored a great goal against us at Pittodrie, and last night he did exactly  the same by scoring an instinctive well taken goal against theRangers at Ibrox.

It’s not just his goals, but his all round play is superb and he’d bring a lot to our side. He’s got to be a player who is a on our radar. He fits our strategy. He’s young, he has great potential and he knows our league, and while he’s not the finished article, he’s anything but a ‘project’ player.

Unfortunately his good form has attracted a lot of admirers particularly from down south, and that reported transfer tag of £6 million could well be rising and one that sees us priced out of any proposed move for the player. He’s a player we should have been making moves for in the January window, even for five or even £6 million. With the lucrative bounty of Champions League money on offer for the winning the title this year, it would have proved a bargain.

Come the summer Miovski will have his pick of clubs, so unfortunately it looks like Celtic could be priced out of the race. After his first game in charge of Aberdeen, new manager Neil Warnock backed Bojan Miovski to hit the 30-goal mark before the end of this Premiership campaign, as he labelled his striker the best in the country.

Warnock insists he is thrilled with his first impressions of Miovski. “I said to him yesterday; ‘I’ve not seen one of you in the Premier League, never let alone in Scotland.’ I think he’ll get 30 goals for me this season.

“I said to him; ‘I’m glad the window is closed. You’ve got me now and I’ve got you.’ He’s super, a good lad with good attitude. You don’t normally get strikers who work their socks off but he does that,” Warnock said, as reported by P&G.

The two players that The Celtic Star kept urging Celtic to sign in the January window were Owen Beck from Liverpool and Bojan Miovski from Aberdeen. We’ll find out this summer if Celtic are prepared to pay more to make it a case of better late than never for these two.

Bojan Miovski would be an absolute star playing for Celtic.
