Opinion: It’s time for The Green Brigade to Return to Paradise

Bring back the Thunder! It’s time for The Green Brigade to come back, argues Just an Ordinary Bhoy…

It was rumoured yesterday that the Green Brigade were having their suspension lifted and would be present at today’s clash with Hearts, but ultimately it turned out to be untrue and they will continue to be shunned from Celtic Park.

For how long, is anyone’s guess, but there is a chance they will be back for the game with Livingston next Saturday. Here’s hoping.

Love them or loath them, you can’t deny that they bring a superb atmosphere to Paradise and that is something that’s been notably lacking in their absence. The fact that they were banned in the first place is in my opinion a disgrace. The powers that be should hang their heads in shame for the way they have treated the North Curve.

We all know the real reasons behind it, and it reflects more negatively on the Celtic hierarchy than it does the Green Brigade. They have shown themselves up for what they are.

The need to act quickly and defuse this situation, before it gets any worse. We have a title to win and the last thing we need is any negativity around the place. They have a chance to put an end to this madness and bring the feel good factor back to Celtic Park on match days. Time to sort it out, Celtic.

There are two parties to a dispute and surely for the good of Celtic, both sides can work towards an agreement that allows the supporters to return and the stadium to be back to normal with all season ticket holders entitled to attend games.

Well, Just an Ordinary Bhoy has had his say but do you agree with him? Should The Green Brigade be allowed back for the Livingston game next week?

Do you agree with Celtic’s stance on this matter and should the Celtic ultras be denied access until they agree to abide by the same rules that the rest of the support?

Or maybe you just want a compromise agreement to be reached to get this problem sorted once and for all and allow us all to get on with supporting the team? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments section below…

  1. There is no way the do called green brigade should be allowed back into Celtic park this season, until the moron’s start backing the Football club they should be banned for an eternity

  2. They do bring a good atmosphere but it’s up to the rest of us to provide that in their absence.

The ability bring a good atmosphere does not allow them a blank cheque to behave irresponsibly by letting off smoke bombs and flares.

If they can behave then allow them back but if they can’t then we move on. Simples

  3. I don’t like the behaviour of the green brigade, however the atmosphere is lacking.
Bigger problem now is Lawell has failed Celtic.
    Rodgers has failed Celtic.
Other directors and coaching staff have failed Celtic.
All fans should turn their backs on Celtic park until the named mentioned are gone.
How fast have Celtic deteriorated under lawell ,& Rodgers.
