Partick Thistle boss makes absurd comment about James Forrest

Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall has bizarrely claimed that Alan Forrest, James’ brother, is better than the Celtic winger. Alan looks set to sign for Hearts this summer and McCall, who coached the younger Forrest brother at Ayr, believes that he is now at a better level than his brother.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, McCall said that he thinks Hearts will improve next season by signing Lawrence Shankland and Forrest, with the Thistle manager even suggesting that Alan is better than James.

“And the good news for Hearts fans is if they manage to pull off Shankland and Forrest then they’ll improve in that area no end. So I do think they’re light in the forward areas.

“Easily. I think now he’s better than his brother.”

Granted Forrest has had some injury issues and at 31, he is not at the beginning of his career; however, he is still an excellent player and that has been recognised by the manager, who rewarded him with a deal until 2025. The fact that he is even being mentioned in the same breath as his brother, who has just left Livi, is a bit absurd.

Forrest has amassed a staggering twenty trophies in his time at Celtic as the one-club man has enjoyed an incredible career so far in the Green and White Hoops. Celtic’s No.49 will be hoping to get himself back up and running ahead of the new season as Ange’s men prepare to take their place in The Champions League Group Stages.
