Pep Guardiola on his ‘good relationship’ with ‘owner of Glasgow Celtic’

Manchester City Manager Pep Guardiola has today commented on the news that Ange Postecoglou has left Celtic to join Tottenham Hotspur.

“Another exceptional manager is coming,” the Manchester City Manager said as reported by football Daily.

“I was lucky to meet him in Tokyo years ago when he was manager of Yokohama, one of our clubs in the City Football Group. We had an interesting chat; I have a good relationship with the owner of Celtic Glasgow.”

Pep also applauded the work Ange done at Celtic, saying he done an “incredible” job at Celtic.
“He will do an incredible job at Spurs”.

Celtic have benefited from the close relationship with Manchester City and the City Football group in recent years.

Players such as Jeremie Frimpong have been picked up from Manchester City and sold on for significant profit, while former Manchester City players Dedryck Boyata and Patrick Roberts also had very successful spells in Glasgow.

Both Mark Lawwell and Ange Postecoglou had been working in the City Football Group and have been tremendously successful at the club. Amid the departure of the latter, Celtic fans will hope Mark Lawwell will stay and continue the excellent recruitment he has overseen in recent times.
