Peterborough set to sign Joel Randall despite previous interest from Celtic

Joel Randall looks set to join Peterborough from Exeter, according to a report. Football Insider claims that Celtic were interested in the winger back in January but following Neil Lennon and Nicky Hammond leaving the club, the interest faded. Now, Championship new-boys Peterborough have been tipped as favourites to seal the winger’s signature for £1m.

The 21-year-old made 36 appearances last season for Exeter, scoring 10 times and assisting 5 times. He is tipped as being one for the future but Celtic need a total overhaul and the English midfielder is probably not exactly what is required at the moment. Randall will undergo a medical as he nears a move to Posh. The Daily Record linked him with Celtic but it is likely that given Hammond and Lennon have departed, Celtic have dropped their interest in Randall.

Since Moi Elyounoussi left the club in the summer, Celtic had just Mikey Johnston as a left-wing option. However, now the youngster is out for the foreseeable along with another option Karamoko Dembele. Celtic have been linked with Kristijan Lovric from Gorica in a deal worth £4.2m but there has been no update regarding the progress so far. Liel Abada has been signed as support for the right-wing position but Celtic need an enormous amount of work done across the park and left-wing is one of those that require attention.
