Photo: Christie rewarded with TOTW place after stunning strike

RYAN CHRISTIE has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week after Celtic’s 2-0 win over Aberdeen. Christie, 25, scored one of the goals of the season after taking the ball from Tom Rogic on the right hand side before bending a left footed shot into the left hand corner, leaving Joe Lewis helpless.

Christie has looked better with Tom Rogic coming back into the side and giving him the opportunity to go wide and cut back inside, allowing him to link up with his attacking colleagues.

It was an incredible goal from Christie and fans will have noticed that it mirrored an effort from James Forrest in the 2019 semi-final versus Aberdeen. Ex-Celtic keeper Craig Gordon looks to have justified his decision to leave the club in the summer after he was named in the Scotland squad as well as the TOTW.
