Photo: Disgraceful – explicit banner is not from Celtic fans

A BANNER appeared outside Celtic Park last night, with an explicit attack on Neil Lennon and Shane Duffy. The Irish pair have been criticised in the wake of an extremely sluggish start to the season. A bedsheet with writing scrawled across it appeared outside the car park in front of the front entrance to Paradise.

Duffy and Lennon are both Celtic supporters and will be hurting as much as the rest of us after what was a shambolic episode on Thursday night. A poor run of games and people are hoping that each game is a turning point as laboured games have been the currency of this campaign so far.

Throughout his time in Scotland, the manager has been subject to vile and disgraceful abuse because of religion but never from Celtic fans. There will be some that disagree with him, some that dislike his style of management but he is a Celtic legend and should be supported but can be questioned in an appropriate manner.

One thing that is certain is that the individual responsible for this is not a Celtic supporter.

Anyone can buy green paint and a bedsheet. There are forces at play that are attempting to derail 10IAR and Celtic need to resolve things quickly to get things back on track.
