Photo Of The Day: Brian Whittaker Attacks St Mirren

The return of the photo of the day brings you an image from 1 October 1983. On that afternoon, Celtic drew 1-1 with St Mirren at Paradise.

An official crowd of 15,289 – a dubious figure in the opinion of many (you decide from the image below). They witnessed the Buddies take the lead through McDougall in the 34th minute, before Brian Whittaker levelled proceedings shortly after the hour mark.

The disappointing result meant that Celtic finished the day one point clear at the top of the table, rather than having a two point advantage.

Hopefully Sunday afternoon produces a better outcome for the current team.
