Photo Of The Day: Celebrating The Double Treble, Surely An Unsurpassable Achievement

Today’s photo of the day reflects on the quite incredible achievement that was Celtic Football Club winning a Double Treble in 2018. Any treble is special, but to do two in a row was an achievement that would never be surpassed… or would it?

Thousands of fans lined the streets as the history making Bhoys headed to Paradise in an open top bus. It had been a spectacular day, with the sun blazing and the atmosphere bouncing. Callum McGregor opened the scoring with a stunning volley from range, before Ntcham made sure of the result with a tidy finish.

That sealed an outstanding run of six trophies on the bounce, something truly unbelievable. Yet, by the time the League Cup was won the following year, all eyes were on another treble as we knew the League title would certainly follow. In truth, treble numbers three and four in a row were almost expected by some – as mad as that sounds. We knew the run would come to an end one day, but it felt like Celtic were peerless in domestic football.

Historic days, which will spoken of in generations to come.
