Photo Of The Day: Celtic Fan Display Versus Inter Milan (2015)

Our photo of the day comes from Celtic’s 3-3 Europa League draw against Inter Milan.

Having not played against Inter for decades, the fixture immediately brought up the nostalgia of the 1967 European Cup Final when Celtic beat the Italians 2-1. Although, Celtic had competed against the Milanese club in the 1972 European Cup Semi Final too, albeit we lost that one on penalties.

Paradise was packed for this, the most exciting match of the season. Moments after Lisbon Lion, Bertie Auld gave his address to the supporters, the Green Brigade unveiled this magnificent moving display.

The banners read: “It is up to us, To everyone at Celtic Park, To build up our own legends.”

The banner below was originally an old blank tv screen, before Stevie Chalmers’ winning goal against Inter Milan was depicted.

At the front of the stand were 3D figures of Ronny Deila and the Celtic team looking up to the message.

The night went on to be one of the great European occasions with Celtic coming back from 2-0 down, then 3-2 down to draw in the last minute. The atmosphere was electric.
