Video: As The Media Blast The King For A Scoreless Run Of Two Games, Larsson Blasts Into The Top Corner

On this day in 2002, Henrik Larsson answered the criticism from our friends in the Scottish mainstream media by firing a wonderful left footed strike into the top corner.

Larsson had been mocked for “bottling” out of taking a penalty in the previous match, and was blasted for failing to score in a huge run of 180 minutes – two matches. Nevertheless, the King of Kings put egg on the face of the press with one touch and a left footed strike into the stanchion, after being set up by Paul Lambert.

Alan Thompson then gave Celtic a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone with an extremely fortuitous free kick from long range.
