Photo Of The Day: Celtic Fans Two-Stick Banner Lisbon ’67

Today’s photo of the day takes readers back to the European Cup Final in 1967. Needless to say, the venue was the Estadio Nacional in Lisbon and our chosen image is one fan’s two sticks banner which was unveiled before kick off.

The club is at a low ebb just now, so scenes like these are wonderful reminders of the heights we’ve hit in the past. Indeed, we went where no other club from British shores had been at that time.

It’s incredible to see all the hats, jumpers and ties being worn in such extreme heat. There’s certainly something magical about the whole event.
