Today’s photo of the day looks back to Celtic’s last away victory over Livingston, with an eye on the weekend’s fixture. Incredibly, Celtic’s last win at Almondvale, now known as the Tony Macaroni Stadium, was way back in February 2007. Although, we have only visited the ground on four occasions since, drawing three and losing one. Each of those subsequent visits have been since the plastic pitch was laid in recent seasons.
Ange Postecoglou knows that nothing less than a victory will do this weekend and he would be only too pleased to replicate the Hoops’ emphatic win from over a decade ago. That occasion was a Scottish Cup 4th round tie, and goals from O’Dea, Riordan (2) and Vennegoor of Hesselink overturned an early deficit to ensure the match ended 4-1 in Celtic’s favour.
