Photo of the day: Paradise looking colourful for Utrecht visit

Today’s photo of the day dates all the way back to 2010 and the visit of FC Utrecht in the Europa League qualifying stages. Celtic won the game 2-0 with a dominant display – the goals came from Efrain Juarez and Samaras in the first half. However, the second leg saw the Hoops embarrassed in a 4-0 loss.

Our photo of choice zones in on section 111, and the area within it housing the Green Brigade. The home match against Utrecht was one of the first since the ultras group had been given their own section. There was a vibrancy and enthusiasm about things back then, with two stick flags and banners aplenty.

It was a cracking night of atmosphere. Unfortunately, it looks like collective punishment remains in place for tomorrow’s fixture, meaning Utrecht will return to Celtic Park but the Green Brigade will not.
