Photo Of The Day: Three Celts Model The 125 Anniversary Kit

Today’s photo of the day is slightly unusual in the sense that it is not a scene from a match. Instead, we bring you a picture of Thomas Rogne, Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper wearing the iconic 125th Anniversary kit at Lennoxtown.

The shirt from that season has become something of a collector’s item. Its limited production and beautiful design have combined to ensure that jerseys have fetched several hundred pounds online. What’s more, the top is an early feature of Celtic’s second nine in a row.

The image shows the three Celtic players of the time modelling the strip, which was based on the club’s first ever kit in 1888.

Thomas Rogne was a steady performer, who showed appreciation for the Celtic support. Meanwhile, Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper were exceptional players and were recognised for their performances by earning moves to the Premier League.
