Photo Special: “We’ve been phenomenal. We were unlucky against Glasgow City,” Celtic Captain Kelly Clark

Kelly Clark spoke after the thumping 8-0 win over Motherwell about her pride as Celtic Captain in her teammates for what they have achieved this season.

“I’m so proud of the team and the performance in the big games like this,” Kelly told Celtic TV after the final game of the campaign where Celtic secured Champions League qualification for the first time.

“We knew a win would guarantee us Champions League football and the first half especially was unbelievable,” Kelly said. “We got difficult news this morning and all our plans changed but to come out and put on a performance like that was unbelievable.

“It was one of those ones that you want to do it for the people who couldn’t be here. The chat before it was we do it for them so they’re in the Champions League with us. It was unbelievable and the performance was unbelievable. Fran’s enthusiasm is infectious and he gets so much energy out of us which has been great.

“People wrote us off so many times and our performances against Glasgow City weren’t great but we picked ourselves us after each of those,” Kelly said.

“Since that first defeat against them in the second round of fixtures we’ve been phenomenal. We were unlucky against Glasgow City but I don’t know if Glasgow City expect us to push them all the way to the last day of the season and I’m so proud that we did.”
