Premier Sports to show three Celtic pre-season matches – including Artur Boruc Tribute Match

As Scotland eventually sailed in the end to a 4-1 win over Armernia in the humid conditions of Yerevan, at half-time host Darrell Currie caught the attention of every Celtic fan with the announcement that Premier Sports would be showing three of Celtic’s six pre-season matches next month – including the highly anticipated Artur Boruc Tribute.

With Celtic due to take on Blackburn Rovers – who now boast theRangers conqueror Jon Dahl Tommasson as their new head coach – on 16 July, and recently relegated Norwich City on 23 July, the most interesting news amongst all that was that sandwiched in between these two games is Artur Boruc’s Tribute match versus Legia Warsaw in Poland.

Celtic supporters will be able to see a match that will surely be the showpiece of our pre-season plans. Artur was a phenomenal servant to Celtic FC and it is only right and fitting we help pay homage to the man along with his Polish love, Legia Warsaw. Hopefully there is no animosity with both sets of fans after the Champions League qualifying fiasco a few years back.

In light of the fact that Josip Juranovic will be returning home to one of his former clubs, you would imagine it would be a very special occasion with a great carnival atmosphere to it.

Now with the news that Premier Sports will showcase the match itself, it will be great to view how Celtic are coming along with their plans for the new season.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
