Scottish band Primal Scream have responded to the Celtic fans’ display against Motherwell last night. A tifo with ‘OUR LIGHT SHINES ON’ was followed by a spectacular use of pyrotechnics behind the goal. The tag is a reference to anthem ‘MOVIN’ ON UP’.
Primal Scream, who released the tune in 1991, are supporters on the club and they reference their own experience watching the Hoops in an emotional message on the band’s official Instagram page.
Frontman Bobby Gillespie often comments on the club’s process but this appears to be a poignant moment for the band as a whole.
Celtic won the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Kyogo and Daizen Maeda. It means that Celtic go into the final game before the World Cup with a healthy seven point advantage.
Whilst the Green Brigade are known for their colour, they are also committed to charitable causes. The helper unite the Celtic support to raise nearly £60k in their annual food drive, along with seven full vans of food. Their antics in the stands may not be to everyone’s taste, but their dedication to social causes cannot be faulted.
