Prominent account makes blunt comparison between Celtic and Rangers’ transfer business

A prominent Celtic account on Twitter, Everything Celtic, has made a blunt comparison between Celtic and Rangers as the Cinch Premiership breaks for four weeks. Ange Postecoglou’s side battled back from a goal down to beat Ross County whilst Rangers dropped more points in the early kick off, drawing at St Mirren.

With the Inquiry underway in Govan as to how they find themselves nine points behind the Scottish Champions going into the break, Everything Celtic’s point holds water. You’d even go as far to say that the arrival of O’Riley and Hatate, two bedrocks of the Celtic midfield, emphasise just how impressive the club’s recruitment has been.

Indeed, Rangers have made sizeable amounts of money from their Europa League run and also their Champions League appearance, which was the worst in the competition’s history. However, fans are dismayed that the club have failed to kick on and challenge Celtic. Ange, meanwhile, has said that Celtic are already concluding their January business while Rangers appear to be clueless as to whether their manager will even be there next month.

The 2020/21 season saw Rangers praised from every column, phone-in and blog space imaginable whilst Celtic were chastised for their dealings in the market. This time, it is quieter regarding Celtic’s success in the market. The purchase of O’Riley, in particular, is phenomenal. However, he is one of many as Celtic continue to get their recruitment right under Ange.
