Pundit takes aim at Griffiths for costing Celtic

CHRIS SUTTON is not one to mince his words and the big pundit did not miss the target as a player and he doesn’t when taking aim for Leigh Griffiths today.

Speaking to the Daily Record podcast, Sutton says that Griffiths’ summer failures to keep himself fit have cost Celtic. Neil Lennon’s side are 4 points behind (albeit with one game in hand) but have struggled to get to their best this season, succumbing to an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to Rangers at the weekend.

Griffiths returned to pre-season unfit and has had to work his way back into the plans of Neil Lennon. He came on as a sub versus St Johnstone and netted a much-needed late winner for the Scottish Champions. He wasn’t deemed fit enough to start against Rangers and Sutton says that this isn’t good enough.

Sutton isn’t usually one to snipe at Celtic for no reason but he may be picking an easy target in the form of Griffiths, especially when you consider that it is his old pal in the dugout.

One thing is certain though, Celtic need to improve if they want to win 10IAR.
