Rangers duo doubt to face Celtic in Glasgow Derby

Rangers could be without John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe for the Glasgow Derby meeting with Celtic next weekend. The Ibrox club were 2-0 winners against St Johnstone on Wednesday. The challengers will travel to Celtic Park next Saturday in the second meeting between the sides this season.

Roofe was forced off in the first half to be replaced with Dessers whilst Lundstram was on the end of a tackle, which resulted in him leaving the pitch.

Clement said that Roofe had felt something as he was forced off, resulting in the player going straight up the tunnel. The Belgian then confirmed that the ex-Sheffield United midfielder was a doubt for the Glasgow Derby.

“We will need to give him a full assessment tomorrow and the day after to see how he is, but at first sight, it doesn’t look good. I hope I can recover him before the winter break.”

Brendan Rodgers took a depleted side to Ibrox in September and secured all three points thanks to a goal from Kyogo. As the rhetoric builds with Rangers installed as favourites, the supporters will be hoping the team can raise performance levels.

Celtic will be hoping that they can get themselves firing on all cylinders after a disappointing run of league form. Rodgers will be hoping that he can have Daizen Maeda, Liel Abada and Reo Hatate all back to their best.
