Celtic face Rangers this afternoon in the biggest game of the season. Ange Postecoglou’s side goes into the fixture in a fine run of form with a number of players overcoming injury concerns to get themselves into contention.
In goals, Joe Hart is expected to continue. The Englishman has been excellent since arriving from Tottenham last summer. The defence will almost certainly be made up of Greg Taylor, Carl Starfelt, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josip Juranovic. Taylor, Starfelt and Juranovic were away on international duty but return unscathed.
In midfield, Postecoglou faces the biggest decision regarding who to start. Tom Rogic was injured versus Ross County but he is back available after missing the Australian camp. Rogic could start again with Japanese Internationalist Reo Hatate in the two No.8 roles with captain Callum McGregor playing at the base of the midfield.
In attack, Giorgos Giakoumakis is a stick on to start upfront following his performances in the last few months. Kyogo is fit and available again but he is unlikely to start. Daizen Maeda will likely start at LW with Jota playing on the right.
It is a huge game for Celtic and one that could really put daylight between Postecoglou’s men and their rivals. Whilst there is still a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season, Postecoglou and his team will look to silence the home crowd and give the 700 fans in the corner something to sing about.
