RB Leipzig part company with Domenico Tedesco with immediate effect

Celtic’s Champions League opponents RB Leipzig have this morning parted company with their manager Domenico Tedesco with immediate effect as well as his assistants, the former Celtic right-back Andreas Hinkel and Max Urwantschky.

RB Leipzig lost 4-0 at the weekend to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga before suffering a shock 4-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk last night with the former Celtic winger Marian Shved scoring twice!

Highlights of these games are below…

Will RB Leipzig get a new coach in before traelling to Madrid next week? Regardless, they can’t expect to get anything there so look like going into the double header with Celtic on zero points.

Whether Celtic will be in the same boat depends on how we cope with Shakhtar Donetsk in Poland on Wednesday night. The next four games in Group F gives Celtic a real opportunity, but with 3 away points already on the bag, the Ukrainian Champions will be on a crest of a wave in Warsaw on Wednesday. It is going to be some game!

Hopefully Madrid will give RB Leigzig a real hammering to batter their confidence still further.
