Real Madrid v Celtic – Team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic take on European Champions Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the early evening kick-off in the final match in the Champions League Group F.

Real Madrid recorded what was ultimately a comprehensive 3-0 win in Glasgow on the opening night of the campaign but there is no doubt that the scoreline flattered the illustrious Spanish giants with Callum McGregor striking the post in the first half and Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda and Giorgios Giakoumakis all passing up clear-cut scoring opportunities before the inevitable happened.

That became the recurring theme in Celtic’s Champions League campaign where results have never match the performances and it’s certainly a frustration for everyone connected with Celtic.

Real Madrid have failed to win in their last two Group stage matches drawing in Warsaw against Shakhtar Donetsk and losing in Germany to RB Leipzig. Those two meet this evening and are fighting it out for the second qualifying spot for the Champions League knockout stages.

The Champions of Europe of course are already through but a combination of a Celtic win this evening and RB Leipzig beating Shakhtar would see the Bundesliga side win the group.

Ange Postecoglou wants his players to play without fear and to take the game to Real Madrid. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they could get some joy this evening doing just that? It would of course mean we take our chances for a change. No missed opportunities tonight please, Celtic!

Team News

Cameron Carter-Vickers stayed home in Glasgow after picking up a knock on the plastic surface at Livingston, the quicker Scottish football follow the Dutch example and ban these artificial surfaces the better.

Callum McGregor is the only other injury as the Celtic captain targets return for the trip to Pittodrie in mid-December, which is the first match back after the World Cup.

Our Predicted Celtic Team this evening is as follows (we got 10/11 right on Sunday)…

Hart, Juranovic, Taylor, Welsh, Jenz, O’Riley, Hatate, Mooy, Forrest, Kyogo and Jota.
