Hearts FC have announced that they have offered their players and staff a 50% pay-cut as the reality of the Coronavirus pandemic begins to take hold.
The Scottish Premiership bottom side have one of the highest wage budgets in the league and Ann Budge has moved quickly to protect the club’s future amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic.

Players that do not accept the cut will be offered termination of their deals. This could perhaps spell the end of the season as Hearts appear to be trimming the fat of their squad ahead of the new season, whenever that may be.
Budge, who has a personal wealth estimated at £30m, has already promised that she would launch a legal challenge should the decision be taken to relegate Hearts. Budge feels that her side can rectify their woeful season in the final games. As The Celtic Star has been arguing, no teams should be punished with relegation and instead a 14 team Premiership should be created with Inverness and Dundee United coming up to compete in a one-off league for 2020/21.
Ideally, Celtic would be able to win the league on the pitch but should that fail to materialise, the club should be awarded the league on the basis that we have been top for just about all match days as well as the huge 13 point lead.
