Red Bull side close to agreeing pre-contract with Celtic starlet

Red Bull New York are close to signing Celtic U20 starlet Cameron Harper. The 19-year-old has held advanced talks with the MLS outfit and could seal a pre-contract deal with the side to take him there in the summer.

According to The Athletic, Harper has been offered terms with the New York outfit and it could persuade the USA Youth Internationalist to switch Glasgow for NYC. Harper made his debut on Monday in the game against Hibs but lasted just over an hour before he was substituted. He did miss a half-chance when the better option was to square it to Tom Rogic; however, his inexperience got the better of him.

He is highly rated at the club and has developed through the youth ranks in recent years. Celtic have been tipped to give him a new deal but there are fears that it could be too late to fend off interest from Red Bull New York.

With his deal up, Celtic could lose yet another promising youngster for next to nothing as they have done recently with Bayern Munich and Manchester City luring talented young players away. Although the draw to the States would likely be first team football that Harper has only experienced once.

  1. Another failure by celtic, another board failure, the whole.place is a shambles from top to bottom,he took a clear shot.at goal, what a Stricker is supposed to do,unjust to say passing was the better option, always trying to walk the ball into the net is not an option, get the strickers shooting instead of passing the ball from corner flag to corner flag, tactics are bad ,team formation is worse, no idea how to change it up to win a game.
