Reliable journalist confirms fee Celtic paid to Spurs for Carter-Vickers

Celtic confirmed the signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers on a four-year deal this afternoon. The defender spent a successful season with the Scottish Champions as they regained the Premiership title and League Cup.

According to Larry Henry Jnr, who has been a constant source of information for updates on Carter-Vickers, Celtic have paid £6m for the defender. However, with add-ons that could take the deal in excess of £10m meaning that there are £4m add-ons tied into the deal.

The Spurs player signed on deadline day last summer and went on to make 45 appearances, scoring 4 goals. The deal was a season-long loan but the Hoops retained an option to buy.

The centre-back capped off a double-winning season in Scotland with a call-up to the USA National Team. With the World Cup in Qatar on the horizon, CCV will be keen to make sure he’s on that flight which can only be good news for Celtic. He has been solid at the back, even chipping in with big goals, especially in the win at Ibrox where he netted the winner.

Celtic identified Carter-Vickers and Jota as the two top targets for this summer given the success that the pair have enjoyed. Both would cost £12.5m and Celtic will be keen to action Jota now that Carter-Vickers has signed.

Ange will want to make sure that the team are in the best possible position for next season and they are a step closer to this with CCV signing up until 2026.
