Report: Celtic to sign youngster from West Ham on three-year deal

Celtic are set to confirm the signing of highly-promising young central defender Justin Osagie on a three-year deal. The 17-year-old is set to arrive from West Ham United as Celtic’s B Team strengthens for the new season.

According to All Nigeria Soccer, Osagie will sign a three-year deal with The Scottish Champions. The player opted to make the switch from London to Glasgow as he seeks experience in the UEFA Youth League, something he would not have had the opportunity to do so with The Hammers.

Dylan Reid had been touted as a potential option to sign this summer in the B Team; however, the player decided to remain with St Mirren’s first team. Ange Postecoglou stated that he wasn’t directly involved with B Team recruits but instead it was something that the club’s recruitment were proceeding with to strengthen every team at the club.

The club will likely confirm the deal in the next few days. The club have suffered in recent times with English teams poaching youth talent but Celtic have acted swiftly and poached the highly-rated youngster, who will be eligible for the Super Eagles.

For the first team, Celtic have already signed Aaron Mooy, Moritz Jenz, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexander Bernabei whilst adding Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Maeda on permanent deals.
