Belgian side Gent have had a £4.5m bid accepted by OH Leuven, according to a report. Football Insider claims that the 26-year-old is the subject of interest from a number of clubs but it would appear that Celtic could miss out on the striker that has scored three goals in his first three games this season.
Henry scored 21 goals last season for the Belgian side and The Scottish Sun said that Ange Postecoglou was close to signing him for £7m. Newcastle and Crystal Palace were also linked with a move but the report stated that Celtic were the frontrunners to seal his deal. It looks as if Gent are now the frontrunners to sign the striker.
Henry scored 45 goals in 78 competitive games since arriving from Royale Union Tubize-Braine. Celtic may yet return for Henry but only if Odsonne Edouard is sold in the next few weeks. The manager is hopeful of a new signing in the next few days, which would likely be along the backline, where Celtic needs the most attention.
Odsonne Edouard could still move on but the talk relating to him moving on has calmed down. The 23-year-old is said to be available for around £20m but so far, the market does not appear to be favourable for Celtic to sell the striker that has scored 87 times for the club.
