Report claims Scott Brown may be appointed player-assistant at Aberdeen

Scott Brown is being linked with a sensational move to Aberdeen to become player-assistant if Stephen Glass is appointed as the successor to Derek McInnes. The Celtic captain is entering the final months of his deals with the Quadruple Treble winners but it is unclear whether he will extend his stay or hang up his boots. The Scottish Sun are reporting that the 44-year-old, who is favourite for the Pittodrie job, wants Brown to be part of his backroom staff if he gets the job.

The pair played together at Hibs before Brown completed a move to Celtic in 2007. In that time, Brown became one of Celtic’s most decorated player, became an Invincible Treble winner as well as racking up the most European appearances for a Celtic player. Brown is expected to make the transition into management and you cannot rule out seeing him in the Paradise dugout at some point, although it would be a shame to see the player leave after this season.

Brown worked with the Celtic U20s in the 2015-16 season but decided to step back from coaching in order to focus on playing. Since that time, Celtic won 12 trophies in a row vindicating his decision to step back.
