Report links Bolingoli with unlikely move to Roma

The transfer window always serves up the weird and wonderful links that are so far fetched there might be something in it. Bolingoli to Roma might be the most bizarre rumour related to Celtic this summer.

The Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb are claiming that the Serie A side are keen on signing the Belgian left back who has become an outcast at Celtic Park following his Spain jaunt last month. The actions of the left back resulted in two games being postponed by the Scottish Government and footballing authorities.

The report also claimed that Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir were also keen on brining the unwanted left back to their side as Neil Lennon looks to get him off the club’s books. This would probably be a more likely scenario for Bolingoli, who signed from Rapid Vienna last summer for £2.5m.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph has claimed that the Scottish Champions now see the acquisition of a new left back as a priority coming into the last four weeks of the transfer window. Ideally a left footed centre back would be purchased as well which would allow for a 3-5-2 with Frimpong operating off the right and Elyounoussi off the left.
