Reported Celtic target Siriki Dembele nearing move to Bournemouth

Reported Celtic target Siriki Dembele is nearing a move to Bournemouth. Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City and Celtic have all been linked with the player but it appears that Scott Parker’s side have moved towards signing the player, having agreed a fee.

According to Bournemouth Echo, the midfielder will look to seal personal terms in the coming hours as he sets up a meet with ex-Celt Ryan Christie with the South Coast side.

Dembele is the brother of Celtic youth prospect Karamoko Dembele and has been linked with the Scottish Champions as well as Glasgow rivals Rangers. However, Ange Postecoglou and Celtic have decided against making a move for the versatile attacking midfielder. With six months remaining on his deal with Posh, Dembele was added to the transfer list as they looked to earn a fee for the player. Dembele, who can also play as a winger, earned a place in the EFL League One Team of the Year as Peterborough earned automatic promotion to the Championship.

The midfielder started his career with Dundee United and joined Posh in June 2018. Last season he impressed, scoring 11 goals and notching up 12 assists for the London Road outfit. In 24 appearances this season, the 25-year-old has scored twice and recorded 5 assists.
