Respected journalist says Aaron Hickey wants Serie A move

RESPECTED JOURNALIST Stephen McGowan has rubbished claims from Football Insider that Celtic are close to signing Heart of Midlothian’s 18-year-old starlet. The Scottish Daily Mail Chief Football Writer took to Twitter to announce that Hickey wanted a move to Serie A side Bologna.

Celtic have been in the market for a new full back after the behaviour of Bolingoli resulted in two games being postponed, resulting in Celtic falling behind Hibs and Rangers. Now with just Greg Taylor as the club’s only option at left back, Neil Lennon will need to look to the transfer market to find reinforcements. Hickey has been linked a number of times with a return to Celtic Park.

There have been a number of different reports from journalists regarding Hickey’s future. However, so far none have come into fruition. Celtic, Bologna, Bayern Munich and Lyon have all been touted as favourites at one point or another but McGowan claims that a European move to Serie A is on the mind of the ex-Celtic youngster.

Whilst Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn have been enticed to European moves, Hickey could follow, especially after The Scottish Sun revealed that Celtic had no interest in pursuing the full back.
