Roma agree deal with reported Celtic target, paying £11k-per-week

AS Roma have agreed terms with reported Celtic target Ola Solbakken, taking him to Italy for around £11k-per-week. The Norwegian was a thorn in Celtic’s side in the Europa Conference League Round of 32 and fans were clamoring for a move to sign the Bodo/Glimt attacker.

According to RomaPress, Jose Mourinho’s side are closing in on a deal having agreed a salary of around £700k-per-year. The legendary Portuguese manager will certainly have been impressed with the attacker in all of his ECL appearances against Roma earlier this year. The player’s contract expires in December, meaning he will be almost certainly leaving Bodo/Glimt this summer for a small fee.

Celtic had reportedly considered Solbakken as an alternative to Jota, whom they are expected to move for in the summer. The winger has seriously impressed since joining on loan from Benfica and Celtic will be considering moving swiftly to make his stay a permanent one. The player is loving life in Glasgow, scoring 12 goals and assisting 14 times in 39 appearances in The Hoops. Celtic can offer the player Champions League football next season as well as a platform to play and express himself.
