Scotland Team’s Up – McGregor starts, Taylor on bench, Ralston and Turnbull not involved

Our captain Callum McGregor is the only Celtic star named in Steve Clarke’s starting eleven this evening as Scotland take on Ukraine in the World Cup Finals Play-off semi-final at Hampden.

Clarke has named the following starting eleven and substitutes for the match that could see Scotland take on Wales on Sunday for a place at the World Cup Finals, which will have echoes of Anfield ahead of the 1978 World Cup for supporters of a certain vintage.

Scotland: Gordon (GK), Robertson (C), McTominay, Hanley, McGinn, McGregor, Dykes, Adams, Gilmour, Cooper, Hickey.

Substitutes: Marshall (GK), Kelly (GK), O’Donnell, Souttar, Christie, Hendry, McKenna, Armstrong, Stewart, Brown, Ferguson, Taylor.

With Greg Taylor the only Celt listed on the subs bench that means that both Anthony Ralston and David Turnbull won’t be getting stripped and will instead watch from the south stand at Hampden.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and is live on Sky Sports.
