Free agent Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a terrific capture for Celtic. It’s a win win situation for all involved so get the Ox signed TODAY!…

Celtic are reportedly making great progress in persuading former Liverpool, Arsenal and England forward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, to make Glasgow his next career destination, as Martin O’Neill bids to strengthen his squad as we prepare to challenge on three fronts.
Sky Sports News earlier today confirmed that the deal is progressing with the player undergoing a medical ahead of signing a deal with Celtic. The deal has to be completed today if Oxlade-Chamberlain is going to be included in Celtic’s squad update for the upcoming Europa League play-off against Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuggart.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently a free agent having been freed by Turkish side Besiktas in the summer but has been in recent months maintaining his fitness by training with former side Arsenal.
If we do manage to get this deal over the line, then it’s one that will certainly catch the imagination of the Celtic support.

Martin O’Neill has been on record as saying he wants the 32 year-old attacker to enhance his squad, and that is good enough for me.
His lack of match fitness might hinder him initially, but as he’s been working alongside the table topping Gunners, he won’t take too long to get up to speed in that respect.
The 35 times capped England man, was an explosive talent in his day, and undoubtedly still posses that ability, although the fire in his belly could well need rekindling, but what better man than Martin O’Neill to make that happen?

Oxlade-Chamberlain is friends with Joe Hart and reached out to the former Celtic goalkeeper to get an understanding on what it’s like playing for the Hoops. You can imagine just how positive Super Joe was in ‘selling Celtic to his pal.
The man they dub the OX would be an ideal addition to our squad and will clearly add quality. He’s a former England international, he’s a Champions League and winner, can we afford to turn our nose up at such an opportunity?

No of course we can’t. Bringing in Oxlade-Chamberlain perhaps will not go down well with a section of our support, but it makes perfect sense to recruit a player of his ability, despite him nearing the end of his career.

Think of Lubomir Moravcik and the impact he made when arriving at Celtic at roughly the same age as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is now.

The player can reinvent himself in the spotlight, and that can be only of great benefit to the side. It’s a win-win situation for all involved and he could be the difference maker in Celtic’s tie against VfB Stuggart in the Europa League play-off. a tie Martin O’Neill will be desperate to win.

Get the Ox signed that’s the message from me!

I was initially as scathing of pursuing this type of signing as anybody else.
But with the depth of quality (proven quality) still lacking in the attacking area of the squad, the continued absence of a certain Portuguese, and reluctance from the hierarchy to spend real money on squad investment, you do have to adjust your perspective a bit.
Martin O’Neill thinks AOC can add something to the title challenge. And I would put my faith in MON right now.
If the Ox can stay fit, then why would we refuse any potential advantage he could offer us, heading into the next 4 months? Especially with that experience.
He’ll get my backing if he signs, and like ANY other players, will only be judged on performance, effort and contribution.
Boyd will shit himself if ox signs. He’s full of shit anyway.hh
Lubo?
I think you are a dreamer but youre not the only one.
Totally agree. Smart move for all concerned. MON knows best.
