Sheffield Wednesday v Celtic fixture confirmed, as club thanks supporters for renewing season tickets

Celtic have this afternoon issued an update on a pre-season match. The friendly game is away to Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday 7 July with a 3pm kick-off. The match will be played behind closed doors and will be streamed to Season Ticket Holders on the Pass to Paradise.

And the club has also thanked the many thousands of supporters who have already renewed following the launch of the Season Ticket renewals yesterday.

“We have been overwhelmed by the number of fans who have shown their support by renewing for the campaign ahead. From everyone here at the Celtic, we want to say a huge thank you for once again getting behind the team as we look to the season ahead.

“We have a real chance to start afresh, and to build towards a successful future and your support is more crucial than ever to ensure that we start this new season stronger than before.

“Everyone here at the Club is preparing for an exciting season ahead, and we can’t wait to start this new era together. Once again we sincerely thank you for such tremendous support,” the club stated on the official website.

In contrast the Green Brigade is urging their own member to delay renewing and are have plans to meet other fans organisations to coordinate plans.

Eddie Howe’s appointment as the new Celtic manager, which is ‘Imminent’ should change the landscape significantly. It can’t happen soon enough!
