“Significant” Edouard development is really just a Rangers fan wishing he would leave

It’s sometimes easy to get reeled in by the promise of a breakthrough or a major development in a transfer story, so it’s probably a good idea to delve a little deeper.

On the face of it, a report from Football Insider should be scary for Celtic fans, as it seems to indicate that the club will struggle to keep Odsonne Edouard past this Summer.

There’s been plenty of speculation after his exceptional performances this campaign, but we haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s doing anything to force a move just now.

Because of that, the promise of a major development suggests he’s now either looking to move or a big offer has come in.

The reality of the situation is that Alan Hutton thinks plenty of big clubs could be interested in him, so Celtic might struggle to keep hold of him.

That’s it, the development is a Rangers fan who clearly wants to see their major rivals weakened by the best player leaving.

Of course we all know that Eddy will have to leave at some point, he’s an outstanding player who looks destined for the highest level, but it’s also important that he only moves when he’s ready and to the right club.

Clearly he’s going to develop more playing in Europe and being the main man for Celtic than playing in the cups and as a sub in the league for a bigger club, so it makes sense for him to stay at least one more season.
