Sky confirm talks for Angolan right-back

This morning’s links to Argentina right-back Fabricio Bustos seemed to quell any move Celtic could have made for their former targets.

Having been linked with Aurelio Buta, Brandon Soppy, a permanent move for Jonjoe Kenny and Stephen O’Donnell, it looked as though the Argentina would be next on the transfer treadmill.

However, ,according to reliable media outlet Sky, Celtic have ramped up their talks for Buta, with the club said to be preparing a £4.5million bid for the Royal Antwerp right-back.

Buta, 24, has played 81 league games for The Great Old after joining from Benfica in August 2017. However, with a lack of European football in the pipeline for Antwerp, it is believed Buta’s head could be swayed by not only a promise of European football every season, but of course an improved wage which would be a hugely tempting factor.

Sky claim that Celtic bosses are said to be preparing a bid of £4.5million for Buta. However, it is believed Antwerp value Buta higher than this, and Celtic may be forced on to other options.

Josip Juranovic was linked last month by Sky, and Fabricio Bustos was rumoured to be on Celtic’s list earlier today, with a fee of around £4m reportedly being enough to tempt the Argentina to Paradise.
