Sky Sports’ presenter delivers impassioned Neil Lennon defence

NEIL LENNON is facing a lot of criticism after Celtic were beat 4-1 at home to Sparta Prague in the Europa League, effectively ending season’s European campaign. Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, who is a Celtic supporter, took to social media to defend the manager, saying that he has earned the right to turn things around.

Joseph pointed out the fact that Celtic have won 11 trophies in a row and are in a final next month v Hearts. However, the type of performance and nature of the defeat is alarming for Celtic supporters.

The Scottish Champions are chasing the record of 10IAR but this historic, unprecedented season, the club have fallen flat in Europe and in the league so far. Rangers are nine points clear (Celtic have two games in hand) and are bottom of their Europa League group.

Neil Lennon will be worried about his tenure, especially with a tough game coming up against Motherwell. Celtic can ill afford to drop anymore points and Lennon will know that any dropped points will see him under even more intense scrutiny.
