‘Slippery’ Rodgers and the women scorned – ‘like finding your boyfriend on Plenty of Fish’

“This is like finding your boyfriend on Plenty of Fish,” this young female Celtic supporter observed when looking at an image of Rodgers signing on at the King Power stadium after sneaking away from Glasgow under the cover of darkness to drive himself down the M74 towards the English Premier League.

Chris Sutton was on BBC Radio 5 Live this evening for the Football Phone-in and another Celtic lady called Michelle, who called in and was absolutely scathing about our former manager’s departure. She was speaking to a wider audience across the UK and got the general feeling shared across the entire Celtic support across brilliantly.

“We’re extremely grateful and always were – he chose to give all that up to be known as a traitor and a fraud instead of a Celtic hero and he did this for the sake of 10 weeks. If he’d have stayed until the end of the season he would have left a Celtic legend, a hero. He gave that up.”

“Under the cover of darkness, in the middle of the middle, all sleakit and sly,” Michelle said, describing the manner of Rodgers’ departure.

“Celtic fans feel that Rodgers was slippery and it’s hard to argue with that,” Chris Sutton concluded.

Have a listen…and well done Michelle!
