Snodgrass to Celtic as Lennon eyes defensive recruitment

ROBERT SNODGRASS could be set for a sensational switch from West Ham to his boyhood club after the Scottish Champions launched a bid to sign the 33-year-old.

A veteran of the Premier League, Snodgrass has fallen out of favour at the London Stadium and now looks set to push for a move away from the Hammers, allowing Celtic an opportunity to bring him in on loan.

The dead ball delivery of Snodgrass, the fact he knows what the club are all about as well as what is at stake means there is a lot of sense behind bringing him to the club. Snoddy has been praised in the past for his desire on the park and despite being slower than he was a few years ago, Scott Brown proved that age is irrelevant on the park when you know how to use experience.

Snodgrass has been linked with a move to Celtic throughout his career but it had failed to transpire so far. It will be one of a few deals taking place at Celtic Park over the next day with the transfer deadline fast approaching.

Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph revealed that Neil Lennon made an enquiry to West Ham late last night to bring Snodgrass in but that he was eyeing defensive recruitments as well.

A left wing back is an essential purchase but another defender could be imperative after Nir Bitton’s injury. The ability to have a left sided defender would definitely help Celtic adapt to playing deep teams who are committed to containing Celtic.
