Spirit of ’86, It’s Albert Kidd Day – Forget the scorer what a special goal Celtic scored that day

Forget The Scorer, Today Marks The Anniversary Of One Of The Greatest Ever Celtic Goals…

The Celtic Star has reported on various memories from that never to be forgotten day at Love Street in 1986. We all know what happened that day and how incredible it was that Celtic ended up champions.

Aside of Albert Kidd, the demolition of St Mirren and one of the most special titles in the club’s history, today also marks the 34th anniversary since one of the greatest ever Celtic goals was scored. Sadly, the goalscorer isn’t too popular in Parkhead circles these days! However, few can argue this goal must rank right up there.

It was not the first time that Celtic would score a goal that was as sensational as it was important, at Love Street. Indeed, Johnny Doyle scored this absolute beauty in extra time of a cup match to hand Celtic victory over St Mirren. What an individual effort!
