Sporting Director of Italian giants admits Celtic star is the target “he likes the most”

Everyone knows that Odsonne Edouard will finally move on from Celtic, but you do start to worry that an exit this summer appears to be inevitable.

He’s not had his best season this time round but there have been signs of life in recent games, so it’s in everyone’s best interests for him to have a brilliant end to the season.

It means bigger clubs will be interested in him, and Celtic will be able to command a giant fee which can be put towards rebuilding the various weak spots in the squad.

Nobody has emerged as the main contender to sign the French striker at this point but a report from Sport Witness has indicated that Roma are very keen to bring him in.

It’s believed that their new Sporting Director Thiago Pinto is a huge fan of the striker, while he’s even admitted to the Italian press that Edouard is the transfer target that he “likes the most” going into the summer window.

It’s expected that Edin Dzeko will leave Roma in the summer so they will be in the market for a striker, while there’s no sign of a new contract being signed just now so Celtic can’t let themselves get into a position where he enters the final year of his deal.

Expect plenty of other suitors to emerge as the summer approaches, but Roma could be a great destination for Eddy if he does decide to move on.

Still trying to figure out exactly why Vidar Riseth hammered the ball across his own goal line that night in Perth....

  1. Goodwin says it contact he spun Taylor round that will put you of balance dont go down you dont get penalty Celtic had st Mirren chasing the ball al over the the where
Treading water last 20 minutes it was the possession football and quick passing and not going all out to score another patient football in the end it work a treat st Mirren git one look at goals in first half one in second 1 goal gets u three points drew to many games chasing second defence played well.hopse young bhoy is alright late tackle but he just lost the ball for a sec made him stretch for it that’s how his foot was planted

  2. Don’t want to see Eddy leave at all as I am positive there is still the best to come, especially under a good manager and better, more eager players around him. He’s young and he doesn’t need to leave right away, there are others we can cash in on. Give him another contract for another two years and then he will be ready to go to one of the great continental clubs, not England. Roma is definitely not for him, Juve or even Napoli who are crying out for someone that plays his role.
