St Mirren 0 Celtic 0 – Dallas aids the Cowboys but Celtic have no-one to blame but themselves

CELTIC failed to capitalise on their Glasgow Derby win by dropping two points at Paisley this evening. Andrew Dallas saw his opportunity and certainly took full advantage but if we are being truthful with ourselves, Celtic deserved what they got tonight.

Olivier Ntcham, the hero of a fortnight ago, was off the pace from the start. How Brendan Rodgers missed the tell-tale signs that a red card was coming is a mystery tonight. The Frenchman lost control high up the park as Celtic pressed, and lunged into another tackle. There was only going to be one outcome and that was a red card. Few could argue with the decision.

Celtic huffed and puffed all night with only James Forrest leaving Paisley with his held held high, him and Scott Brown.

The Celtic captain was another one booked by Dallas, as was Tom Rogic, for an infringement that looked like it should have gone the other way. Dallas was even in the right place at the right time to break down another Celtic attempt at an attack.

Callum McGregor, so impressive for Scotland earlier in the week, had his poorest game in a longtime in a Celtic shirt and Odsonne Edouard, Celtic’s record braking signing failed to live up to the status as the number one pick now that Moussa Dembele is over in Lyon.

Leigh Griffiths had a chance as the clock ticked down after good work from Forrest but skied it high into the Paisley sky. Two years ago, Griffiths scored chances like that for fun. He did have the ball in the net in the 93 minute but was offside.

The biggest winners tonight play tomorrow if they take advantage of the Celtic slip. We could be 5 points behind Hearts and have Rangers breathing down our necks.

Brendan Rodgers blamed Andrew Dallas but if truth be told Celtic have no-one to blame but themselves.
