Supporters continue to demand change with Lennon Out trend on social media

Celtic supporters have been badly let down by the club, from virtual season tickets, a January review, 23 points behind Rangers or a woeful run of form – there has been a severe lack of communication from the club to supporters in recent months. The one exception to this is the impressive John Paul Taylor, Celtic’s SLO. However, a new anti-Lennon trend has started on social media and this exploded in reaction to a Celtic tweet this evening.

As Celtic announced Jonjoe Kenny from Everton on loan until the end of the season, a social media trend demanding Lennon is removed from his position of manager began in the replies.

It is a shame that Kenny’s announcement has been marred with such a reaction; however, many feel that the club are not listening to them anymore. Lennon has fielded calls to resign and be sacked from October onwards but the Irishman has stubbornly clung onto his position with each call strengthening his stubborn stance.

Lennon’s achievements with the club cannot be taken away, but the recent months may threaten to tarnish his legacy at the football club and with the support. There is a toxic air around the club in recent weeks in what was supposed to be a season like no other. The club are needing an overhaul with Dominic McKay replacing Peter Lawwell in the summer. Mr McKay has a lot of work to do if he is to hit the ground running as he looks to build the club back better.

  1. When Lawwell failed to sign McGinn I thought- ANOTHER MO JOHNSON moment- I knew at the time with Mo it would be a long way back from that disaster- and so it proved. McGinn and the Rogers departure has proved to be another disaster.I recall thinking then that Lawwell has GIVEN UP ON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Brendan brought in around £60 million in CL money- he was entitled to a serious spend on quality additions out of that.Lawwell has acted like a Masonic 5th Column inside Celtic and has done everything that Celtic’s enemies could’ve wished for.The question is- was it deliberate or the result of outside pressure. Lawwell also brought in Bankier who had been involved with Murray’s Rangers- a Trojan Horse ? Either way they’ve presided over minimal ambition/downsizing. What’s the point of a billionaire Chairman who refuses to fund the necessary additions to improve the team partucularly when Govan has been getting stronger ? Lawwell apparently believes the Old Firm brand is too important to have one side dominating for a decade so he’s basically said to Rangers- C’mon you catching up. great now you’re ahead – have some success on me ! Rogers could’ve built a serious Celtic team, Lawwell has destroyed a once in a lifetime opportunity- an effing statue according to Broonie ? NEVER !!!! He deserves to be villified. Mr Balance Sheet indded- the highest paid CEO in British football -the man who destroyed a great club.Celtic will lose at Killie, draw ar best and factor in the refs smell blood 2nd place may disappear as well.I’m astonished Lennon hasn’t resigned.Dubai trip 400K ? Can’t some rich Celtic people buy out Desmond and do a complete top to bottom overhaul. If Rangers get to the CL next season then its bye bye title for next what ? 3 yrs,5 yrs ? Quick- close that upper tier !
