Take John Kennedy to Hearts Stories with a Large Pinch of Salt

Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy has recently been linked with the managerial job at Hearts.
According to The Scotsman, “should current caretaker manager Steven Naismith not land the post”, Kennedy would be one of a number of candidates Hearts would be interested in.

Hearts have been without a permanent manager since sacking Robbie Neilson last month and if Steven Naismith fails to deliver third place and guaranteed European group stage football, it is expected he will not be giving the job permanently.

Although Celtic have a tumultuous relationship with Hearts, the managerial job at Tynecastle is arguably the third biggest job in Scotland and it is widely recognised that Kennedy has ambitions of being a manager eventually.

However, Ange’s right-hand man has been linked with managerial jobs before such as Hibernian and FC Midtjylland so these links should be taking with a pinch of salt.

John Kennedy is loving his current job as Head of the Football department and Assistant Manager to Ange Postecoglou as indeed are all the coaches. With over two decades at Celtic as a player, coach, Assistant manager and even Interim Manager, John Kennedy is as they say, ‘in with the bricks’ at Celtic and may well be seem by the Board as a natural successor to Ange Postecoglou when he decides to call time on his Celtic adventure. Hopefully that is many years away.

Stranger things have happened but John Kennedy giving up his current role to go to Tynecastle is certainly not worth losing sleep over.
