Team News: Ralston starts, still no Rogic

CELTIC captain Scott Brown makes his 500th appearance for the club this evening in the vital Premiership match against Motherwell.

Regular first pick Full backs Mikael Lustig ( head knock) and Kieran Tierney ( hip problem) aren’t risked so Tony Ralston and Emilio Izaguirre start.

Tom Rogic remains sidelined after missing the 2-0 defeat at Easter Road and Mikey Johnston starts on the bench after impressing in the latter stages of the game against Hibs. Olivier Ntcham keeps his place after a poor showing at the weekend.

James Forrest, Scotty Sinclair and Odsonne Edouard will be looking for goals.

Tonight’s match has come too early for Ryan Christie who is targeting s return against Dundee on Saturday and Dedryck Boyata who will be ready for the trip to Pittodrie on Boxing Day.

Boyata by that time will be close to deciding if he is going to sign the lucrative contract on offer from Celtic which is rumoured to be worth £40,000 a week.

If he decides to play his football elsewhere then Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna will be top of the shopping list for Brendan Rodgers come 1 January 2019.

The Celtic team is as follows…

Gordon; Ralston, Simunovic, Benkovic, Izaguirre; Forrest, McGregor, Brown, Sinclair, Ntcham; Edouard.
Subs: Bain, Gamboa, Ajer, Hayes, Morgan, Mulumbu, Johnston.
